Moosilauke Visions started as a small alternative boarding school for boys in need of a more caring, experiential, and holistic education.  Forty years later, our nonprofit has served thousands of people from all walks of life with a wide variety of education, wellness, mental health, and recreation offerings.

We believe that our continued success has resulted, in large part, from keeping individual programs small and from our commitment to supporting and mentoring, rather than micromanaging, the talented leaders of these programs.

The result is an organization that functions less as a corporation and more as a diverse collaborative of quality programs and leaders, all united by a shared mission to help people live their best lives.

History

Moosilauke Visions began as an effort by our founder, Jay Wolter, to save a struggling nonprofit school for boys who needed a more caring, experiential, and holistic education than was otherwise available at the time.  Forty years later, our programs and partners have served thousands of people from all walks of life with education, wellness, and mental-health support.

"As we've grown, my job and the job of our intentionally small executive support team, is to help program leaders solve problems and maintain quality, but mostly to encourage, coach, and get out of the way.  It's not unlike our approach to working with clients, an approach that is based on trust, respect, and a belief in people."
